Q: Windows 7, 8 & 10 showing dollars ($) instead of pounds (£)

A: There is a known bug in Windows 7 (and it appears it is reintroduced in Windows 10) when setting the locale information which includes currency. Windows 7 will display the currency as dollars in SIMS even though the Windows settings are set to pounds. To rectify this set the country (Control Panel > Region and Language) to be anything other than the UK, i.e. USA. Apply the settings and restart. Now set the country back to the UK and apply then restart. The problem will now be fixed.
